In 2008 we introduced a faith-based Life Skills curriculum called WHY WAIT (developed in Malawi by SAFE).
WHY WAIT is a grade 5 through 12 curriculum that Faith Foundation/Trust for Africa implemented in 92 schools, impacting 25,000 students. We ran 6 successful teacher workshops, after which the teachers have been running the workshops.
Teachers often come up to us and thank us for the WHY WAIT program — that it has changed their lives, as well as those of the students.
In 2012 the Lesotho Ministry of Education implemented a different Life-Skills curriculum that is mandatory in all schools. This development will have implications for the WHY WAIT program. We are in the process of evaluating our next steps for this program.
